Phoenix Wins No Borders

posted at 9:32 AM
Phoenix survived a late surge by the Friars (a GOAT, Torontula, other pick up team), to pull out
Firebird also finished strong, ending up 7th overall after winning a war against Red Circus from Halifax in the crossover game to get into the Elite Bracket.

Special thanks to the
Tournament Director, Steve Trainor, OCUA, our sponsors, and all of the tireless volunteers that made this No Borders the best one yet.
Can't wait until next year! a 15/14 Universe win at the No Borders tournament. The final point saw not one, but two Jamie Craig defensive plays followed by an... interesting hammer decision by Ramsey to... Jamie Craig in the endzone where he beat three Friars defenders for the win.

Are You Ready for a War?

posted at 4:09 PM

After some good and some ok from Boston, Ottawa Ultimate is gearing up strong again.
No Borders is this weekend (July 19th-20th), and the Program is pumped to lay it all out for our home tournament. Phoenix goes in with the #1 seed, followed by a Lightweight Mephisto Squad (called Lettuce Burn, which is, by the way.... Hilarious if your from Ottawa Ultimate).
Ring the bell it's time to go to school!

Cazenovia-Bound

posted at 8:19 PM

The Open Program is sending it's top squad south again to battle it out with some more solid US teams (and a some familiar faces from Montreal and Toronto).

Cazenovia features some top calibre Ultimate, some decent fields, and the 2nd wettest tournament of 2006 (behind White Mountain). Ottawa wasn't able to get two bids this year, so the rest of us will be milling around the CHEO Barbeque tournament looking for teams.

Good Luck to everyone!
